daidtech.com — portfolio and MDX blog
Year: 2026
Category: Web Application

Project Overview
This site. A Next.js App Router application with the blog built in — every post is an MDX file read at build time and rendered as a static page, with syntax highlighting, related posts and category filtering.
The Challenge
The blog began as a separate Ghost install on its own host, with its own database and its own deploy. It was a second system to keep alive, and it earned very little for the trouble.
The Solution
Posts became MDX files in the repository. At build time each one is read, its frontmatter parsed, and a static page generated. A draft is a file whose name starts with a dot; it stays off the live site until one command publishes it.
Outcomes
- •The whole blog is statically generated at build, with no database and no admin panel on the live site
- •Publishing is a file move and a commit; rolling back a bad post is git revert
- •One repository and one deploy, instead of two systems to keep running
